At least three migrants drowned off Sangatte near the port of Calais whilst trying to cross the Channel to the UK, French media reported on Sunday.
ADVERTISEMENTA major rescue operation was underway involving a Navy helicopter on Sunday morning.
Ten migrants were also being treated for hypothermia reports said.
Authorities in the UK stated that 322 migrants crossed the Channel and arrived in England in six boats on Saturday.
