The Arizona Coyotes waived forward Adam Ruzicka on Friday with the intent to terminate his contract, the team announced Friday. The move comes after Ruzicka, 24, shared a video on Instagram of what appeared to be a white powdered substance and a credit card on a plate.
The Coyotes said they would have “no further comment.” The NHL declined to comment.

Ruzicka played three games with Arizona after he was claimed off waivers from the Calgary Flames on Jan. 25. He was a fourth-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft by the Flames, where he spent the first four seasons of his career before being waived. Ruzicka didn’t register a point for the Coyotes, but scored three goals and six assists through 39 games with Calgary this season.
Ruzicka is in the final season of a two-year, $1.525 million contract signed in 2022.
