MANCHESTER CITY are finally back to winning ways thanks to a run-of-the-mill win over Nottingham Forest.
The defending Premier League champions welcomed Forest to the Etihad winless in their last SEVEN matches in all competitions.
Anything but a win would have spelt the end of City’s faint hopes of retaining the title.
But Forest were unable to put the final nail into Pep Guardiola’s troops title defence, suffering a 2-0 defeat.
City broke the deadlock in the seventh minute when Bernardo Silva got on the end of a goal-bound header from Kevin De Bruyne.
The Belgian went from assistor to goalscorer on the half-hour mark with a thumping strike from just inside the 18-yard box.
And Jeremy Doku made sure of the win in the 57th minute with a beautiful curling effort from inside the box.
