In response to a report aired by Saudi MBC on Friday that described Qasem Soleimani, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Hassan Nasrallah, Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh, and other resistance leaders as “terrorists,” the Saudi Media Authority has decided to investigate the author of the controversial report.
The Media Authority stated in a press release that it has referred officials from the television channel for investigation due to the news report’s violation of the Kingdom’s regulations and media policies.
The authority emphasized its commitment to completing the necessary legal procedures regarding this violation.
The authority also confirmed that it continuously monitors media compliance with the Kingdom’s media regulations and content guidelines, pledging to take action against any infractions.
The report sparked widespread outrage, leading dozens of supporters from armed factions to storm the MBC office in the Al-Jamia neighborhood of Baghdad early Saturday morning.
In a related development, the Iraqi Communications and Media Commission announced on Saturday that it has suspended the operations of the MBC office and initiated procedures to revoke its license.
