An Airbnb host from Oxford, England canceled a reservation from an Israeli guest over the war in Gaza, citing personal principles and religious beliefs.
“I can’t condone the war. I have my principles; I am a Muslim,” the host explained, offering the guest a full refund.
The guest objected, citing the difficulty of finding alternative accommodation in a tourist-packed Oxford, but the host remained firm, leading to accusations of racism and antisemitism.
Airbnb condemned the incident, suspended the listing, and offered the guest alternative accommodation.
