A 15-year-old Italian computer whiz Carlo Acutis is set to become the first millennial saint. Nicknamed “God’s influencer,” Acutis used his tech skills to promote Catholicism online.
Despite the lengthy saint-making process, Acutis’ cause moved quickly due to his global following and a miracle that saw him allegedly heal a Costa Rican student who suffered a birth defect.
The Vatican approved his canonization after a second miracle attributed to him was confirmed, which saw him heal a a girl from Costa Rica who had suffered a head trauma.
An official ceremony, likely in 2025, will solidify his sainthood status.
