The Palestinian Civil Defense has estimated that over 10,000 people remain missing beneath the rubble in Gaza, a grim reminder of the devastating human cost of the ongoing conflict. This figure is in addition to the more than 34,535 Palestinians confirmed dead, pushing the total number of casualties beyond 44,000.

“We estimate that there are over 10,000 missing people under the rubble of hundreds of destroyed homes since the start of the (Israeli) aggression,” a statement by the Civil Defense said on Tuesday.

Rescue teams continue to work tirelessly, recovering bodies from destroyed buildings in northern Gaza, many of which are now in an advanced state of decomposition. The Civil Defense emphasized that these missing individuals are not included in the official death toll released by the Health Ministry, indicating the true scale of the tragedy may be even greater than current figures suggest.
