French forward Zaccharie Risacher, the potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft, submitted paperwork to the NBA Monday, he told ESPN.
“It’s always been my dream to get to the best league in the world,” Risacher said. “I’ve been putting the work in for this since I was a kid. JL Bourg has given me an incredible opportunity to showcase what I can do. It’s been the perfect place to start my young career. I’m really grateful to have the opportunity to play for this organization.”
The 19-year-old forward, standing at 6-foot-10, showcased his talent with a standout season in France. In EuroCup play, he averaged 13.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game with shooting splits of .566/.561/.659 across 17 games while averaging 24 minutes. In LNB Pro A, he maintained consistency, averaging 9.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game while shooting .426/.341/.721 in 27 games.
Risacher has played professionally since 2021 and is slotted at No. 8 on The Athletic’s big board.
No player in this year’s draft has played in more games than Risacher, as he has competed in over 60 games across several different levels of competition.
The NBA Draft is June 26-27 in New York City.
