Jude Bellingham believes “more needs to be done” by football authorities after the latest incident of racist abuse in La Liga.
On Saturday, a Mallorca fan was shown on televised footage making a monkey gesture after Bellingham’s Real Madrid team-mate Aurelien Tchouameni scored the only goal of the game.
Mallorca said in a statement on Sunday they were working with police to identify the individual.
It was not the first time such an incident has occurred at Mallorca: in February 2023, a home fan also racially abused Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior. The Brazil forward has been regularly subjected to racist abuse and has been targeted at more than 10 Spanish stadiums over the past two years.
